Many heading to the lake this long weekend...have you ever been confronted by a bear?

One time many years ago when I would have still been in a diaper, my older brother started to chase after the family dog, a misshapen beagle that took after a bear that she saw in the bushes. My brother was all of about 4 or so at the time, but he was running through the bushes trying to scare the bear away from the dog with a broom. He had seen a few other campers in other sites take after the bear with a broom so I guess he thought it was a good idea. Luckily though, nothing happened. The bear just took off into the bushes. I think Mom and Dad's drawers were full after seeing that experience though...lol

camping one weekend, we were walking and came across a bear cub...didn't take us long to get out of there knowing there was a mama bear somewhere nearby.
