Gretzky, Superbowl, Poker Rally, Jamaica = GOOD TIMES!
It's been a busy time of year but the cool thing about my gig is...busy means lots of good times! Where to start....let's go with Gretzky at the Kinsmen Dinner.
I saw something that was a once in a lifetime opportunity. The Prime Minister sitting in the middle of the Great One and Mr. Hockey! Un-freakin'-believable! An experience I'll never forget. Hats off the Kinsmen for putting together such a memorable event! Gretzky was the keynote speaker at the event...but word has it Harper didn't want to miss out so he invited himself. Now the real highlight was the fact Gretzky pointed out that when he was 10 he met his idol Gordie Howe at a Kinsmen dinner in Brantford. So, to honour that time in his life...Wayne flew Mr. Hockey to town to be a part of the event. Gold Wayne! Gold! Wayne and Gordie shared the stage telling stories of their hockey careers that had every person in the building glued to the stage. Here are some pics from the night.

So that was Friday night...on Saturday I was invited out to Aberdeen to take part in a poker rally. See...I just bought a sled a few months ago...but this is all new hat to me. I never had one growing up and I certainly had never been to a poker rally. What a blast! The good Ukranian folk of Aberdeen showed us a damn fine time out at the Laniwci Ukranian Parish Hall! The ride was awesome as well...great snow conditions...even if we did get lost a couple of times. Thanks to Jackie, Travis and the crew for the invite!
This isn't me....

Not me...

No chance in hell this is me....

Then came Superbowl Sunday at the Sutherland! The place was packed...we had a boatload of prizes to give away...and the damn Colts lost to the Saints! So...that means I have to launch myself off a jump while tobogganing naked sometime this week. Maybe I'll wait til the weekend when it warms up! There's no way I should have lost this. I thought the Colts were a shoe-in. Thanks to all who came out to the Sutherland!
Here it is...the moment Payton Manning threw the INT.
It's official...the Colts LOSE!
Shannon Neu rubs it in...

And I'm forced to drink the LOSER SHOOTER...the rally cap didn't even work.
We had an esthetician scheduled to come on the show Monday morning...but she bailed. Maybe I'm too hairy. The plan was for her to do some manscaping on me before the big naked toboggan run. So, Shack being the stellar individual he is...filled in for her and used DUCT TAPE to rid me of my man-fur. Listen to the ripping agony!
And...a shout out to all who joined us in Jamaica for the Red Stripe, Reggae and Rhythm Adventure! Despite one guy being hospitalized, another guy dislocating a knee, another guy blowing his rotator cuff and a woman getting stung by a jellyfish...it was by far one of the best adventures we have ever done! Plus, thanks to Melissa and the crew at Marlin Travel for making it a reality! 70 people from Regina and 70 from here in Saskatoon equals 'Gong Show'! Hop on the trip next year. We'll be sure to give you the deets as they are made available.
Have a good one!
