Corey Haim found dead at 38!

Well, Corey Haim has finally caught up with his career.

Yet another Hollywood star (or pseudo-star in Haim's case) that has fallen to drugs.  Now we all gather and pretend that we had warm thoughts about this has-been actor.  Truth is, most people probably laughed at him for being a worn out 80's star or shook their head when they saw his bungling on the short-lived reality show with Corey Feldman.

I don't want to be a totally cynical jerk though, so here's what I liked about Haim:

1) He was Canadian

2) The Lost Boys and Silver Bullet.  Hell, I'll even give him Licence to Drive.

Here's a quote from the actor:

"I was working on The Lost Boys (1987) when I smoked my first joint. But a year before that, I was starting to drink beer on the set of the film Lucas (1986). I lived in Los Angeles in the '80s, which was not the best place to be. I did cocaine for about a year and a half, then it led to crack. I started on the downers which were a hell of a lot better than the uppers because I was a nervous wreck. But one led to two, two led to four, four led to eight, until at the end it was about 85 a day - the doctors could not believe I was taking that much. And that was just the valium - I'm not talking about the other pills I went through".

Rest in Peace, Corey Haim.  I'll pretend I cared about you for the rest of the week.

i realize

that this guy was a has-been "star" but I think Craig you could have ended the blog with "rest in peace, Corey Haim." and not the snarky "I'll pretend I cared about you for the rest of the week."

this guy was a person who made a wrong choice and it killed him.

to be so crass about another human being is just plain awful.

this guy has a family who are probably all sad he's gone.

i usually like the stuff you write, and I did like this, until your last night.

I know you won't resond because this is a week old.
but I just wanted to put down my thoughts.
